As early as I can remember 'family' was on my mind.  I was babysitting when I was about 9 years old and loving it. Over the years the hours/day/weeks/months spent thinking about what I wanted in a family became one of my favourite pastimes.  Eventually I was to meet Anne.  That was the happiest day of my life.  We spent every possible moment together talking about what we wanted for our future and how to go about it.  After two days I knew more about Anne than any other person on the planet and knew she was the girl for me.  That was all that was on my mind and I couldn't let it go.  I asked her to marry me.  Two days later she accepted my proposal.  There were some misgivings about us being married after knowing each other for such a very short time and I could understand that.  Eventually we compromised and were married the following year, but less than 12 months after meeting.

I have never doubted for one moment that I made the right decision.  We have spent over three decades together now and I can still look at the woman I married and feel just like I did on the day we took our vows.
